Hi to all - my name is Bob Crame, just bought a 07 SRX, on way home from dealership car stopped running and later on was diagnosed with no compression. I suspect either an engine or timing chain replacement. My question is, if timing chain broke is the engine salvageable or might as well replace the engine? I do not want to pay for 3 hours of diagnostics at the dealership @ $125.00/hr or attempt at replacing timing chain to find out replacement engine is needed.
Thanks in advance for all of your input.

This drive from the dealership... was it from the purchase drive home? If so, then depending on your state, it maybe under warranty. Many states have a 30+ warranty coverage for used cars.

Check into that before dropping $$$$.

Yea if that sob blew driving home it's a good bet it's dealer problem. Most states do have some protection for this.
