I can't believe cadillac still doesn't have a decent security system. My 06 M5 with Radernergie wheels was next to it and they didn't even touch it. 100k car and not a scratch. Yet the escalade is gone. No glass on the floor, no alarm to wake up the neighbors, or me. Silent and deadly. I called onstar and they're trying to track the car but as of now. NO NEWS!

I'm wondering how many more 07 Escalades on this forum have been stolen?
I know there's a bunch pre 07 but I guess I had hoped the new version would have addressed these issues.

What would they address? They can only do so much as far as OEM, and the Onstar plus basic theft deterrent is pretty much a system wide standard level of security.

Not good, but few do much else. The real problem beyond all of them is just someone pulling up and flat bedding it out without a trace, or even just getting right in and slicing the Onstar wire. Thieves are the problem, and until such filth gets really rounded up and, ahem, taken care of for good, this will only continue, and all of us with nice, expensive vehicles will just have to do everything in our power to hold onto them.

Awful, awful news, even though the other one was left. Very likely because the '07 is still the latest and greatest, and there's an even hotter demand for them in any form on the black market. I'd want blood...and further be nervous about parking one anywhere. Sounds horrible, but it's true.

It's the price you have to pay for living in a crime capitol. Build and live inside a fort with fences, gates, and guard dogs or watch your stuff evaporate to the winds.

Your the first on these forums, I believe. Sorry to hear about your loss. Let us know if they locate it. Get LoJack, its much more reliable than OnStar if you haven't heard already. Good luck.

From one who has had 2 Escalades stolen, let me tell you the problem...It's the damn police!! For the life of me, I couldn't even get them to show up both times take a police report. I had to do it over the phone. Both times the Escalade was recovered (and stripped) and do you think tha the police would take the time to check the vehicle for prints...not a frinkin chance! The thugs steal our Escalades because they know they can with very little activity from law enforcement. Maybe I'm in the wrong business. If I knew I could turn $5K a day with very little risk, why not!!

I had my Chevy El Camino stolen and a friend had to call me to tell me it was sitting in the street behind the state troopers station. The thief had abandoned it out of gas. It had been there for several days and the troopers hadn't noticed it.

I agree they don't spend too much time or resources.

also Onstar is terrible. They have not been able to trace the truck yet. The only thing is good customer Svc. They call every 3 hours to tell me they don't know where it is.

Thats like throwing viniger on the wound, could you imagine if you had cancer and you were going to die and the doctor would call you every three hours to tell you that your going to die. I would tell them not to call you unless they had good new like they found the truck and the theif got crushed by the truck while he was taking off the rims.

Sounds like they immediately disconnected the Onstar antenna, without the link, there's no communication, and no communication means no find the truckie. Hope you had good insurance. I was talking to my Ins. agent and he told me that if they take it, it's gone, he'll pay the premium, I pay the deductable and replace my truck. It happens so much here. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your truck, in certain areas they get stolen a lot, where I live no one is interested in stealing them, I usually never lock mine.

You should put a picture on the forum so we all can keep an eye out for it. Maybe we should start a new section right where the post are with the stuff that is currently stolen and not found yet. Karma is a beotch and whoever stole your truck will have his/hers coming.

They've been out for some time and this sounds like professionals.

Are there any skid marks on the pavement ? flatbed

The 02-06 security systems were easily bypass - you would think GM would get it right this time.

I think it was prob towed by one of those "repo trucks" some are gas so you don't hear them & they don't even have to get off the truck. The police say they can hook a Car in 15 seconds. But even so the factory alarm should go off if the car is towed. My M5 has that feature why not caddy?

And still no news! Everything points to a pro or a group of pros. Meanwhile my wife is driving the crappy rental that allstate is providing.

Yes karma is a bitch whoever did it has theirs coming.

The factory alarm has no provision for shock or tilt. If the system is triggered it also gives short horn chirps for hte 1st few seconds.. I feel this feature is unacceptable for 2 reasons.

In my area I've been told the thiefs are going after the factory nav systems.

In my case the truck was loaded.

The first thing to go is the wheels, I would think but there's a lot of other options.

Factory 22's.
Navigation
Rear Entertainment
Electric side steps

Called the police again today, and of course nothing. :alchi:

With the amount of the previous generation escalades stolen you would think they would of added these simple features the europeans have.

But I think it's good for GM business to get these trucks stolen.

I passed by the dealer and spoke to the salesman in reference to my issue (i was in the area) His response was, Ohh I'm sorry but I'm looking forward to selling you another. Followed by, be happy at least you'll get an 08 now.

I told him since he's so SORRY.... The next truck he was going to have to give me a much better deal since, It had only been 2 1/2 months since the last. He just looked at me dumbfounded and said "Of course". Typical salesman.

07 Escalade..
M5..
No Garage???
Yes I made the terrible mistake of enclosing my garage years ago for an addition. Buy I'm having the house enclosed with decorative gates. Along with surveillance equipment. This experience was a big wake up call.

Jayloo I'm sorry you also had a loss. I wonder if its the same group of scum bags. Any marks on the floor? Was it in your house?
