After reading many posts and much research, it appears the bad knock is due to the timing issues with the 3.6 motor. I also found that there is three timing chains and units in this motor. The only kit I have found is through autozone at $450. I attempted to find a kit through oem but found only individual parts. Also, how do I find out if my motor is an interference motor, as it looks like an interference motor would have defiantly caused damage to the valves? In addition, I believe that kit from autozone is a Cloyes timing set and looks to be an ome product. Anyone with knowledge of this would be of great help.
