06 STS Homelink?

Has anyone added Homelink to their STS? My Mom has a STS V6 that I would like to add Homelink to. Where exactly does the Homelink unit mount on these cars? On her old Eldorado (2001) - all I had to do was slip in the Homelink unit into the overhead console.

Thanks

I added a Homelink to my 2003 Corvette. I bought a new sun visor with the Homelink module. The visor color was an exact match. I would assume it may be easier to get a visor than to add Homelink to the overhead console.

Since my 2006 has a Homelink I assumed all 2006 STS had them.
Yeah i think all of them have it.

i have it on my 07. i think it's standard.

i love it. works great. even with the rolling code garage door openers.
I have tried to program my homelink to my garage door opening and was not able to do. Are there any secrets in doing so. I have the rolling codes as well.

Thanks.

I don't know about the 07's, but I know that not all of the 06's have Homelink. I'm thinking of just finding a visor type unit to put in the car for her.
The homelink is part of a package and is not standard on the V6 (as unbelievably ridiculous as that is).

There is really no trick. What is the problem?
Try a few things first (I assume you are using a newer opener with rolling codes)

Hold both of the outside buttons on the homelink until it flashes rapidly. This clears all the codes. Then program one button by holding down the homelink button and then the RF remote until the homelink flashes rapidly. Then test the homelink by pressing the newly programmed button. The LED should be solid. If not, start over. Now press the "learn" button on the opener (you should have like 30 seconds after pressing the button). Go back to the car and press and hold the programmed button until the light on the opener flashes. You should be done!

Hope that helps.

It took me a while to figure mine out as well. I finally realized that when I initially held the button down on my garage door remote, it would only send a single code. I tried pressing the button multiple times in a row but that didn't work.

In the end I had to hold the button down on the remote for 15 seconds before it sent out a continous signal that homelink could learn.

My opener is a Wayne Daulton.
