Hey everyone,

Been gone a while and recently listed my V for sale. I haven't driven it much the last year or so and today I went to start it and have no power from the ignition. When I turn the key nothing happens at all. No power to the radio, gauge cluster, no cycle of the fuel pump, literally nothing at all. When I try to lock the car using the button, the driver door always unlocks itself like there is a key in the ignition.

I have checked all fuses and relays under the hood. Totally stumped on what is going on here. Any ideas at all?

Unfortunately no, I thought that at first so I put it on a jump box. The weird thing is the door light and dome light still come on when you open the door and the door locks work except for it auto unlocks the driver door like the key is in the ignition.

well.... yes but a dead dead battery will do this , a jump box is useless then. a good charged battery ( on a charger) left overnight disconnected MUST read at least 12.6 volts - no...not 12.2 or 12.0 , then its is a expired battery...do yourself a favor and spring for a new one....a GOOD one is about 225 beans - - i paid 300 for a AGM. even if it reads 12,6 it may not have enough capacity to crank the car only a very good load tester can tell you this.....i dont care for the box store autozone testers....but thats only my opinion

I wish it was as simple as a dead battery but it is fairly new and not the cause. I started tearing into it today and found the cause. The fuse panel had started to melt where the positive terminal connects from the battery. I believe the connection had worked its way loose and eventually got hot enough to start melting the panel. You couldn't see it from the top, but I couldn't unbolt the positive terminal from the panel and when I pulled the panel out I realized it was because it had started to melt.
