Read through the interchange posts but don't see much on the 05.
I have an 05 that the cam chains had eaten into the aluminum on the guides at 95000 for some reason when I bought it. I replaced all chains guides...... wear parts on top end. 30k later I have low compression in a few cylinders. I understand a 06 is a different animal. I like to know if you recommend tearing this one down and do rings and bearings of pick up another engine and swap out all components? But what year other than an 05 can I look into. I was thinking I can use your suggestions on an 04 possibly?

Thanks for any input.

I recently faced a similiar situation with my 04, after talking to a bunch of different people and getting some really scary quotes I bought a rebuilt motor online and found a local shop that would do the swap for me. so far i'm happy with my decision

Always had a seemed to have a slight miss I could feel. Now I think its always had low compression and diagnostic equipment didn't pick it up or never checked. Did you use someone like jasper engines?
