The 3 cigarette lighter adapters that are in the center console all no longer work. The one by the cupholder, the one inside the center console, and the one above the controls for the second row a/c. BUT....The one in the back works perfectly by the back door in the cargo area. The 20amp fuse according to the owners manual on the side of the dash is fine. I pull it and the cargo area adapter stops working, throw it back in and it works fine. I checked the underhood box which I think suggests the BEC2 fuse or something to that effect, which is a 50 amp fuse seems fine, as the manual says it controls the left side door and other stuff, and all of those controls work. Any ideas as to what's wrong? Are there hidden fuses somewhere I am not aware of? Will I end up having to take the console apart? How do I take that apart in a way to not destroy it without having to take back to Caddy dealer to pay $500 for a $2 part? Thanks!

I have an 03 not sure if they are the same. I bought a plug from chevrolet dealer that has been discontinued for under 3.00. My console plug was not working so I took the console apart starting with the rear controls which gave me limited access to the plug. There was power, so the plug had blown. I spent alot of time trying to remove the plug. I replaced it with the purchased plug making sure I could remove it in the future. It could be that all your plugs have blown. They short at the bottom and have to be repalced. Just a thought and good luck.

CIG LTR fuse is a small 15amps underhood fusebox. Make sure its ok. It also powers the DLC (data link connector). If that checks out you can get to the center console harness without removing too much stuff. Post back.

You need to pry off the center cover where the cupholders are. First you need to remove the trim panel around the CD changer, this one also pry-to-take-off. On my 02 I don't need to touch the dash trim panel, but I've read here on the 03+ that one needs to come off also. The cupholders panel barely slides out with the armrest cover open... Before taking apart anything do you have power at the DLC (data link connector)?

No I don't have a DLC
yes you do.. all of our cars do.. its right under the dash on the drivers side.. go to your local auto parts store ask to borrow a scanner if the scanner powers on when you plug it in the DLC you have power there.. my cig lighter was out as well as my DLC and found the 15 amp fuse to be the culprit..
