I purchased a '04 SRX last week and it did not come with a Navigation DVD. I recently received the latest DVD and when I put it in the system, I get a DVD Reading message that stays up forever. I called GM Nav Disc and they confirmed the part number as being right. I will be taking it to the dealer next Friday, but I was wondering if I am doing anything wrong. I have a feeling that this was a dealer owned car up until I bought it since the OnStar was never activated until I called in. Was there anything special about the original DVD that I am missing by using this upgrade?

Thanks.

None that I know of. Make sure you are putting the DVD behind the screen; using the "tilt" button. Also, make sure the DVD is clean. Otherwise, the unit is defective. As it was a dealer car, the should have it replaced. (Actually, they should have supplied the DVD also!)

There could be a malfunction in the unit, as suggested be sure you are putting it in the right slot, behind the screen.
If it persists then they will probably have to replace the nav radio.
It is not common but I have seen a few.
