........ and your original head unit is part of the car's TheftLock, content theft, and serial data bus systems. Use the correct harnesses and jumpers to do an aftermarket install or you open a real Pandora's Box of security and electrical horrors.

Talk to Crutchfield. Schematics in the correct model/year GM service manuals - eBay or www.alldatadiy.com.

I put an aftermarket radio in my 2004, you will need an Axxess gmos-06, an antenna adaptor and a radio install kit for the dash opening, and if you want to keep the steering wheel controls an aswc-1
With these you will be able to install pretty much any aftermarket stereo you want.

Edited to add pics.
I also have a backup cam.

I've got my new radio, backup camera and install 'toys' on the way from Crutchfields, should be here tomorrow. Let you know how it goes.

The best upgrade by far is putting in a aftermarket NAV/DVD radio in my 2000 Deville. Very easy to do and took about 1 hour. The harnesses I used to hook it all up would be the the PAC OS-2-GM32 and to retain all your steering wheel controls the PAC-SWI-CP2

Ron, that is one of the cleanest aftermarket installs I've ever seen.

Nice work. I'm fixin' to do the same in just a few minutes on my '05. Did the modules you used in the connection process fit in the compartment with the radio, or did you have to put them thru the holes in the back wall?

For the main harness module we cut out some of the the side wall in the back to slide it into.
