we have an 03 escalade, in the last 6 months my wife has come out to go work and and it has not started 5 or 6 times... it is parked in a garage so cold should not be a factor... it seems that the battery is completely dead.. and after we jump start it it runs fine. there was not a door left open or any lights left on... we were told to make sure we take the keys in with us, because the vehicle may keep on reading the chip in the key which sounded kind of dumb to me... any advice would be much appreciated..

Do you have a bad battery? Once a battery goes all the way dead for any reason, it's pretty much 'damaged'. Every times after that it goes dead does more damage to the cells. You can always go and have it tested for free at Autozone or Advance Auto (or whatever other local auto store chain you have close by)

Just hope that it is the battery. I replaced the starter on my lade and it was really no fun!
