you don't list which model Deville you have -
and you don't specify which radio you have -
but assuming base Deville and base radio -

copied below from the 2003 Deville Owners Manual - page 3-83 -

SETTING THE TONE -
TONE: Press and release this button until the desired
tone control (bass, treble or midrange) appears on
the display.
The radio keeps separate tone settings for
each band, preset and source.

- LEVEL +: After selecting the desired tone control,
press the plus or minus symbol on this button to select
the desired level.
To save the tone settings for your presets, press and
hold the numbered pushbutton for the desired preset for
more than two seconds until you hear a beep.

Not sure about the base radio, but on the Bose you have to set it (and store it) for each preset station. The reasoning is that you may want more bass on Rap station than you would on a Jazz station and more treble on a talk station.

Houg,
I meant to "reply with quote" to your post, but mistakenly hit the edit button instead. Unable to retrieve your exact post so I simplified and reposted it. Sorry, I'll go punch my dumbshit card now. :hide:

this is exactly the way i do it, but within time it goes back to the middle default setting all by it self, almost like the battery was disconnected or something
