I have a P0128 code that came up 2 weeks after my warranty ran out. I understand I need a new thermostat. I cant afford to have a professional do it and was hoping that someone could give me instructions and diagrams on how to repair. Im very far from being knowlegable in automotive repair and was hoping this is something I can do on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
Brandon

It's a lot of work but not difficult. The intake manifold has to come off then you can remove the bolts that hold it in. It seems Cadillac put the t-stat in the center of the engine. I purchased a new t-stat, with the housing because someone told me that sometimes the housing cracks. Also purchase the two O ringing that hold the side fill tube in. The parts cost about $60. Get a gal of the GM antifreeze as well because you will loose some. The project took me 8 or 9 hours but I'm not an expert, i have average DIY skills.
