My car is in the dealer right now to replace the knock sensor and while it's there I was going to have them replace the rear bezel to match the body color since I know that was one of the recalls. My question is....what were any recalls on the 03 models that I can have them fix? Thanks alot guys

the rear bezel was not a recall but they would fix it if under manufacturers warranty.....already I woulda been there if that was the case...
yeah, I just had the dealership replace mine. no recall, and it cost about $500. I was pissed, but it's worth it for the look
Bad battery, mine and others were replaced free.

I'd hit 'em up for new struts and hinges for the trunk. The originals just don't do the job. The replacements are fantastic!

All you had to do is tell the dealership that the rear bezel filled with water whenever you went to the carwash or it rained. They would have replaced it for free.

I have to take my CTS in for bad lower control arm bushings and I plan to also have my right headlamp assembly replaced, the clear coating on it is peeling off really bad. I also need the trunk thingies replaced, I have smashed my face one too many times.

All under warranty, all free.
I had all that crapped fixed under warranty and then some...
Two valve cover gaskets, one steering rack and the thermostat...
Glad I got a zero decutable extended warranty.

If you still have the warranty get them to check your door hinges. If they make a little "click, click" noise when opening, they can replace that too. Keep you paper work cause even out of warranty they will replace stuff that might go a second time, like the door stuff, or the rear bezel.
I like the gray rear license panel/bezel. Breaks up the color and matches the headlights.

I took mine in for cracked clear coat on the headlights and all they did was wetsand and buff the plastic.
I had the bezel, thermostat/seals, rough idle fix & clock fix all under warranty. AND a new oil dipstick because they broke the handle off of mine!! LOL
Dealer can check to see if you have any outstanding campaigns on your vehicle. He will run vin thru system.

Also, have him check the blinker fluid. Some of the early 03's leaked a little bit. Ask him about that.

Bbbbahahahahahaha, Nice.

Took my CTS in Thur. for OnStar upgrade, while there I had them check the trunk struts/hinges. When they called to pick up the car my service rep. said the struts/hinges are being replaced under warranty. However since mine was out of normal warranty they couldn't do it and I should check with the service mgr. since I have an extended warranty. Lucky me I talked with a service mgr. who agreed my extended warranty does cover the replacement, taking it it Tues.
I still get pissed off whenever I hear someone else who got their headlights replaced for the peeling issue when all I could get them to do is "polish" mine. That does finally seem to be working though so oh well.

Other issues I've had addressed under waranty include the rear bezel (holding water), lower control arm bushings (squeaking), rear differential (leaking), side window panel things (fading). I still need to see about getting the trunk shocks and hinges replaced and I'll have to check about that door clicking thing. After that though you guys are going to have to let me know about a few more waranty items b/c I like to have at least one waranty complaint whenever I get an oil change so I can get a free rental instead of having to wait.
i wonder if the plastic cover over the headlight is covered? mine are almost smoked from dirt inside.

were the struts/hinges recalled?
hey doc!!!
so they never did replace them for you, that f....en..... sucks!!!
:rant2:

Whats the "Click click" thing on the door, mine does that, does it REQUIRE replacement, or is it ok to leave it...

My 03 CTS has had several thousands of $ already worked on under the 90 day used car warranty, and the used car manager mentioned it was not really covered under lemon laws, they just want to keep me as a happy customer...

$500:eek:
It would have been cheaper to get one off ebay, then have it painted if need be. Unless, you were in a rush to have one, the bezels are always floating around ebay.
I paid $100 for mine, then had it painted along with the stock grill for another $150.
