01/165k miles, no issues. 05/140k miles, weak trans. Both are $750. Which is preferable. Both are white.

not too much detail -

but - assuming IDENTICAL condition - inside and out -

my first thought would point towards the 05 -
JUST because of the coarse-thread head bolts -
less chance of HG failure -

a rebuilt trans is going to cost $2500 -
but then you won't worry about it again -

also the external parts of the car have 4 years less exposure to the elements -

and resale should be higher on the 05 -

If you live in an emissions inspection area, the 05 is less likely to develop the slipping converter clutch code. It was changed from fluid controlled to electronically controlled in 2005. The 05 also has turn signal arrows on the side mirrors.

I would probably lean towards the '05 as well, but can you define "weak trans".

Weak as in replace trans. I have done it before. 3 trans on 3 cars in 3 yrs. I am getting good. But I am getting older too.
