Hi guys-

New owner of an 01 Deville DHS...needing some expertise regarding the HVAC systems in these rigs. It seems that the passenger side has very little control over temperature...however the drivers side works pretty good and on most occasions changes made on the drivers side seem to change the passenger side.

In addition, we have no control over temperature in the rear.

In doing some preliminary searches one recommendation is to pull codes which I will do tomorrow and others are replacing the temp control module and an actuator module ( I think). The previous owner said they had some alternator issues in which it was replaced. I disconnected the battery today and let it sit, followed by turning on the car to accessory position and putting the system into auto for re-sync. That did not fix the issue.

Any other suggestions?

To clarify, the drivers side knob controls both sides when the passenger side control is off.

When the passenger side control is on, it's only intended to be set to within 4 (?) degrees of the drivers side temp setting.

With both on - The drivers side knob effecting both sides, and the passenger side knob not doing all that much is fairly normal.

Not sure where you got that re sync procedure but it's not for these cars. The only re sync procedure is to chance the temperature setting slowly from one extreme to the other several times.

I can pretty much guarantee that one of your codes will be B0429, for the rear blend door.
