I'm hitting mid 11's stock. Shooting for mid 10's with a intake..
You mean mid 12's stock? You are hitting mid 11's with a stock 2006 Cadillac STS-V? I thought that stock STS-Vs were hitting low 13's maybe high 12's if you nail the tree on a perfect track.

Am I wrong?

Edit: As you were...didnt know you were messing around.

This car stock should turn 13-13.4 depending upon several factors of course. Plus unless you disconnect the rear wheels sensors, you can't do burnouts to heat the tires up before your runs.

I read every magazine road test review I could find before I bought my 2008. They all came in nearly the same. Quarter mile times were around 13.3 give or take a tenth or two, and 0-60 times were 5 to 5.1 seconds.

I know that GM said 4.9 seconds, but it was been confirmed this was with some kind of rolling start. The tires had about 12 inches of movement before the clock started. The magazine that determined all this did a test using the same 12 inch forward roll that GM used, and they also got 4.9 seconds 0 - 60.

Timed with my G-Tech Pro, on the street(I won't say where), no traction, 'could barely floor it at the top of 1st gear, D-3 ait filter and black box...made 2 runs. Made a couple of runs after installing Wait-4-Me ECU with no improvement in time due to worse traction problems.
...0-60 5.01...13.47 @ 106.91 1/4 mile...2.27 60 ft.

What is possible 0-60 in this car??

I know there are threads saying what people are getting, which is high 12s to mid 13's. My question is this, IF the tires hook up and you have intake, great tune and possibly pulley upgrade, what is this car capable of doing?

Second question, without breaking the rear end, how do you get the tires to hook up and get a high 11s, low 12s? (and whats the least mods needed to do it)

Re: What is possible 0-60 in this car??

My opinion only, to get into the 11's you can do 2 things

1) crank pulley, intake, exhaust, tune, and slicks.
a) this will destroy your rear diff. most likely
.
2) buy a CTS-V2
.
.
I love my STS-V and will probably always keep it in the stable, it's a badass sedan. I will mod slightly, lower, tune, and intake for slightly more power but that's it. For agressive driving and track days I will buy a Z06 or CTS-V2 Coupe and heavily modify it. My real goal is to maggie a Z06.

Funny, the thread topic is about 0-60 times, but then in the OP's post, he starts talking about 1/4 mile times... Which is it you want to know?

Thread topic "0-60 and 1/4 mile times"
When I posted this, it was under the thread topic "What is possible 0-60 in this car??". The admin or moderators must have merged the two threads since they were essentially asking the same thing. I can confirm I am not losing my mind, as if you look below your name in the post, it says "Re: What is possible 0-60 in this car??", not "Re: 0-60 and 1/4 mile times" as it should for this thread.
