I was having problems with my newly purchased 07 STS not registering that I was in park, when I really was in park. “Shift To Park” was the error and I’d get a warning beep. Each time it happened I’d jiggle the shifter and eventually it would go off. After some research, I learned it was probably a faulty micro switch in the shifter assembly. Kinda scary to rip into my newly purchased luxury sedan…but the cost of having a dealership service center would have been out of the budget.
Well, after watching a few YT videos, I built up the courage to tackle it. A few hours and a $4 micro switch later, no more issues. Hooray!
