98 STS Z / 230k miles. I had a new compressor installed last year by my local mechanic, also the dryer/accumulator and orifice tube. Mechanically the system works fine, and it is still fully charged after nearly a year, so no leaks are suspected. BUT, ever since the new compressor was...

I have what seems to be a unique problem with my 2001 Seville SLS. I've searched all over the forums and couldn't find what I needed, although I did find some helpful things that got me a little bit further in my quest for a solution. During the winter I did not get warm air on the driver's...

now that the 4.9L is running well again, I'd like to now look into the A/C system. it's not blowing cool air. I hooked a gauge on the low pressure side because I wanted to see if it needed R134 and it looks okay. Any pointers where I can look next? thanks D

92 Seville, A/C works when it wants to. First fix was replacing all rubber vacuum lines in engine compartment, which allowed the e-brake pedal to return properly and the air speed from the vents improved. Still remaining is that the front vents come and go, while the rear air blows like a...

Hey all, (94 eldo touring) I too am having an A/C issue (along with all of my other issues), I've noticed that one of the refrigerant lines has become damaged by coming into contact with another metal part of the car over time. I found this out after wasting $50.00 on refrigerant and hearing...

My compressor was making all kinds of noise, so I tried spraying it out with penetrating oil, brake cleaner, etc but it didn't work. It made lots of scraping sounds, but the AC was ice cold. I noticed the air gap was completely closed, so I got the tool from Autozone and backed it off the...

My air conditioner works great when it isn't blistering hot outside, but when it is hot during the day (like today), it acts as if the compressor is cycling on and off too frequently. You notice a definite difference in temperature when it does this. If I'm driving on a warm evening, it seems...

My STS A/C system had been working perfectly until 2 days ago when it suddenly stopped working. 1. I don't think I can hear the commpressor clutch engage. 2. The A/C lines stay hot. 3. There is no ACP codes. 4. 10A A/C fuse looks OK. 5. The A/C relay is OK. (I switched it with other relays.)...

Hard knocking compressor on a 97 SLS so I looked at orifice tube and found metal shavings. My question is for those that have had this type of hard failure and the ability to adequately flush the condensor and line set so I'm not back under the car replacing it again in 6 months. Took a look at...

I need a little help with an A/C issue on my '96 FW. I just had the compressor, accumalator, and orifice tube replaced and I am having issues with the A/C cooling at idle. At idle, it will cool down to 60 degrees. At highway speed, it will cool down it 45. This is with an ambient temperatur of...

I've had nothing but nightmares trying to keep the A/C working in my 86 Deville that we've had since it was new. I don't think I've had reliable AC in this car since about 1990 even after several compressor replacements over the years. Finally had it converted to R134 last year and a new...

There is a noticeable clicking/ticking noise coming from he a/c compressor when the a/c is engaged. It is very noticeable when standing outside of the car. How can I tell if it is the clutch or the compressor itself? Other than that noise, the A/C works perfectly. Any information would be...
