Good news for American Ford and GM, and Good news for Mercedes!
And of course........... Chrylser has gone to hell.
Hopefully we will eventually get the actual results, after JD Power makes their money.....
I wondered when the GM stuff was going to be noticed. My 2008 Cadillac has been...
I consider cts-v as my next way of transportation but I have couple of questions and concerns. I drive currently 06 M5 and my lease will be over in several months. So, it's time.
For many reasons I usually buy or lease new cars. The last time I had an American car was probably 15...
I'm seriously considering buying a new 2010 CTS. I have always owned cars with manual transmissions, but usually German or Japanese makes that sell manual-equipped cars in large quantities. My understanding is that less than 2% of CTS's come with a manual transmission. Could that present a...
Look at this:
So are they saying that, in addition to the DTS, the STS and CTS are also dependable?
Ladies and Gents,
Not a newbie to the forums -- but a newbie to the SRX (my mom had a 1st gen N* AWD back in '04 for about ... 4 days until the new STS came out); I'm considering one of these for my soon to be wife and child and looking for *substantial* thoughts or concerns. Rebates...
I'm a new member, and am currently looking for a Jaguar S-Type, but because those are so hard to find I've decided to buy a CTS until I find my Jaguar.
I have researched and studied jags to a T, and now I'd like to do the same for the CTS, I need to extract every bit of information I can...
I am just soooo glad that I decided to replace my older 2000 DTS (which I loved) with a newer, what I thought would be more reliable 2008 model (which I hate). This morning I was on my way to a doctors appointment when all of a sudden I lost almost all power on the car and the dash started...
'cuz it seems like a good market opportunity...
my '04 has just pitched a fit for the 2d time, refusing to crank, keeping the key and flashing instrument lights when I needed to go to the airport
I'd really rather not replace the ecu again a couple of years from now. I love almost everything...
Consumer Reports just released their latest reliability listing. Cadillac is just ahead of Chrysler at #32.
Here's the brand ranking, best to worst:

Most members of this forum probably know that the later 4.X series engines were quite reliable. I remember reading a handful of times that the 4.9L was one of the lowest warranty claim engines that GM ever produced. Anyone have any evidence of this or was this just a rumor?
When our 2009 Escalade comes off lease in 6 months, we were thinking of going with a 2010 or 2011 Escalade Hybrid.
I was wondering how the reliability of the hybrid system is for you guys that have them.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm getting close to buying the ESV. I've pretty much only been looking at certified ones. Obviously, the 07's are cheaper than 08's, and there's even a couple used 09's in the country.
Is there any major reason to avoid the '07, given the choice? It's the first year in this series, and I've...
Hello to all.
I want to make a general inquiry about the 4.5 engine. I found an absolutely beautiful 1990 coupe deville with 81k. What kind of issues or concerns did the 4.5 have. I am aware that it is a decendant of the pos 4.1. Were there significant improvements to the 4.5 ? Thank you in...
Im thinking of picking up this 2005 ESV locally here and wondering what the reliability on these trucks are with high mileage. This 05 has about 100k miles.
Im very mechanically inclined as Ive built engines, trannys, rebuilt various things on cars. So I dont mind getting my hands dirty...
I am a recent member to the board and in need of some help (surprise!). I am in the process of searching for a '99 Deville and need to get a better understanding of what pricing is reasonable for this car and what problems I should anticipate.
In terms of pricing, as I've been...
I'm looking to add another Caddy to the family, but don't know anything about the 90's models as far as ride and reliability. We've had an 86 deVille Touring Sedan since it was new, but its known to be one of the more problematic years (and I've spent alot of $$$ over the years fixing it...
I'm looking for STS info and this seems like the place to go.
My mother-in-law just test drove a 2008 Cadillac STS RWD w/1SE with 15k miles. She likes the car. She's getting rid of a 2000 Lincoln LS because she's been having tons of problems with the car. It's in the shop...

JD Power does a 3-year reliability survey, so this applies to cars from 2006. This time, they excluded smaller wear and tear items to focus on actual things that go wrong:

Well I have a 99 Grand Marquis with 60k miles and ive been offered a trade for an 03 deville with 118k /w livery package (what is that?)
My question is how reliable are these cars? Ive seen grand marqs/crown vics last till 300k miles. Very reliable car, and ive heard mixed things about...
