My goal is to get to at least 300 Hp to get this car close to the power I’m used to. I just sold my 2010 G37 coupe with 330hp and my 2013 Lexus GS350 with 315 HP . I am having trouble finding the upgrades to get any HP for this 07. I found that I need to get 06 parts I think to get the job done. Any words of wisdom?

I have been having trouble with this car since I purchased it. I k ew I wouldn’t get a perfect ride for $3300 cash but I’ve put nearly that much into it already in 3 months. Right now I’m battling a Check Engine light issue. I think it’s the PCV valve that needs to be drilled out because I’m losing all my oil somewhere. It’s not being burned and I don’t see any leaks. I found that the PCV valve for the 3.2 and 3.6 first Gen need to be drilled out because the crankcase is building up pressure and forcing oil out through the gaskets. I found fine oil in the intake resonator box the other day and couldn’t figure it out until watching a video on the PCV valve problem that the CTS V6 has. It’s an easy fix which I’m going to ya Kyle soon and I will give y’all an update on the modification and if it helped any. I hope that fixes the CEL I have an OBD2 reader coming in the mail so I’m hoping to get this thing running new again. It only has 140k miles on it.

Nice CTS. I had my ‘07 for two years and really liked it. Great driver, good acceleration and no real problems. For what you have in yours you can easily put more money in it and have a great runner for years to come. I put quick struts on mine with OEM Delco shocks for less than $500. Made the car ride and handle like new. Good luck with your upgrades!

Hi Keith. If you're worried about the PCV valve being undersized ask the dealership about a retrofit. I just changed mine & was researching the issue & found that the new one has bigger holes. That's 2nd Gen though I'm not sure about 1st. There is also new head gaskets that blocks a port (or something) on the drivers side (PCV valve side) to help the issue. I was changing the air filter & it had oil on it & when I took the intake snorkel off there was oil in the throttle body intake. Haven't checked it since. Yet. I was told the new PCV valve might not completely solve the using or leaking oil issue. These 3.6's are finicky & somewhat fragile it seems. Good luck.
