    Injectors leaking down maybe?

I mentioned the rear diff because I've seen a lot of discussion about 'popping' from limited slip diffs in tight turns (when one wheel is travelling faster than the other) if the fluid is low or not the correct type. My 2007 srx had some popping in the rear diff clutch pack when I got it; when I...

When turning sharp only? Are you sure that's not the rear diff?
  4. Overheating

    Cadillac SRX First Generation Forum - 2004 - 2009
Normal running temp is about 200 degrees. That erratic behavior on the gauge sounds more like an iffy electrical connection between the temp sensor and the gauge somewhere.

T45 torx iirc. I used a dremmel with a small cutoff wheel to take about 1/4" of length off a 3/8 drive torx socket, and that left just enough space to get ahold of the fill plug and crack it loose. Once loose, it'll spin right out with your fingers.

I got mine from kaleco auto along with fresh fluid. Also got a sweet O pipe! http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=22&zenid=lkEFUCt7JjC3ZMrOkLGrL1

Yeah, I paid 2200 for mine, 138k on the clock but under 50k on the engine. Had to flatbed it home, the brakes were so bad even I didn't feel like risking driving it here.

Wow that sounds a lot like my 07 SRX I bought in July. ABS, Stabilitrak, brake assist, and cruise control will all throw warnings if one of the wheel speed sensors is unplugged, the sensor (in the wheel bearing) is bad, or the wiring harness is damaged. I'd pull the wheels off one at a time...

Did you end up finding the antenna?
  10. Where is the GPS antenna located?

    Cadillac SRX First Generation Forum - 2004 - 2009
Hmm, I could swear I had read that it was right under that dash pad. The post I saw was talking about wedging a piece of wood under the dash pad to hold it up while getting a wrench on the bolt that holds the bracket in place. I need to dig into mine and have a look at it too. My nav takes...

GPS antenna should be on the driver side dash, under that plastic cover that runs across.
  12. swapped motors on a 05 SRX. Having issues

    Cadillac SRX First Generation Forum - 2004 - 2009
If it's the pressure line going down to the rack, I believe that was either 18mm or 3/4in (19mm). Just enough room to get a piece of a turn at a time with the rubber intake duct, air box cover, and filter removed. Kind of a PITA to get that fitting started back into the threads though.

I can't think of any reason the patient would reject the tramsplant there. The previous owner of my 07 SRX had the engine swapped early last year, and judging by the 'bubba fixes' I've encountered, the shop that did the swap were not highly sophisticated. It has to be something simple. Ground...
  14. Brake line question

    Cadillac SRX First Generation Forum - 2004 - 2009
Yeah, I'm kind of thinking of looking at the local U-pull yards. I might get lucky and find an SRX with lines in decent shape, and just pull them. Might be easier than bending and flaring my own, and matching up all the fittings.

Hmm not too sure where to go from there. I'd probably pull the interior panels in the rear and check the plugs at the amp, and check whether power's getting to it with a voltmeter. If that isnt the only module acting funky, a knockoff MDI and a tablet running tech2win would be starting to look...

I think the radio antenna is laminated on the windshield, not 100% sure on that one though. But yes, if the amp fuse is blown and the radio fuse is good, you should have the display but no sound.

Hold a good fuse of the same amp rating up in front of a light, and you can see the filiment that runs across the middle of it. A good fuse will have an intact filiment, a blown one is easy to see the blown filiment in.

The SRX certainly puts the 'well' in 'jack well'. A sump pump would probably have been more useful to more owners than that third row seat.

The throttle body, tps, and actuator are all one assembly. If you look up the throttle body on autozone, you'll get a clearer look.

Not sure if this helps, but it's the best diagram I saw in the FSM.
