      In my case, the PO442 was a rusty section of EVAP line which eventually broke. I cut away the rust with a tubing cutter and connected a length of submersible fuel line ( Gates 3/8 SAE J30R10 ). Error code gone.

      Note: I had to do the same for the fuel line, a few years back. It’s not concours material but it does the job.

      Oh man, I feel your pain. Last year, I had to junk my wonderful '03 DeVille because it was rusted out like that. That's why I spent so much time looking for a replacement WITHOUT rust. Finally found one in Arizona. Salted roads are just a killer on these cars.

      Here's a pic I just snapped of my EVAP canister and lines, they are like brandie new. So I don't think I have EVAP line leak, but hey, you never know! ;) The whole undercarriage is rust-free like this.
