  2. How many miles on your 1994 Deville?

    Cadillac DeVille 1985 to 2005 including:1985-1992
Mine is right at 125,560 original motor and tranny, no oil use, and fairly smooth. My last DeVille (91) was sold at 165,000 and still ran like stink. Oh, and these are both the 4.9 litre variety. Is it just me or do others like the instant torque of the 4.9 versus the top end of the 4.6? I like...

  5. Brougham owners help!

RWD 19xx-1984 DeVille and Fleetwood,1985-1996 Flee
I believe the 90'Brougham Limo has a 5.7L and the Euro clip which I am not to excited about. The 88' and 89' are 5.0L and I am not sure about the 86'. I am not sure if beeing "D'elegance" matters much in anything but the interior and small outside emblems, anyone got 411, I am about to trade or...
  6. Brougham owners help!

RWD 19xx-1984 DeVille and Fleetwood,1985-1996 Flee
thank you very much for the reply, I am a bit concerned with the any tech-additions that the 88'has vs 86'... should it be more efficient to put the 88' into the 89' or 86'?

Hey Mike, the Phaeton roof is a simulated canvas top from the dealer as an option. Whether or not it was an actual Cadillac sourced item remains a mystery to me. The color combination of my 1994 is White/Blue/Blue with a gold package added to it. One other member has one I have seen posted...

From another new guy welcome! 200K on a 1998 DeVille.. Which is like saying 30K a year.. Dang, those are a lot of miles, but if the car is accustomed to being the highway rider, and if that is what you want to put the car into service for (being back on the interstate) I don't see why it...
  10. The love hate thing continues..

    Cadillac DeVille 1985 to 2005 including:1985-1992
Coming home the other day, my cushy 94 decided to flash "A/C compressor off" and "Engine Hot" within a half mile of arriving in the driveway. Actually come to think of it, was quite a lucky situation, but much to my suprise, my 4.9 decided to eat another water pump within 20,000 miles of the...
  11. Thanks for the help with my 4.9!

    Cadillac DeVille 1985 to 2005 including:1985-1992
Dang.. So the car might be managing to go through another EGR Valve.. Ugh! Ya know, this car is a very emotional rig! The love hate factor is high in both directions, but when you drive it, turn on the AC, set the cruise, and crank the stereo it can make the maladies of ownership seem quite...
  12. Thanks for the help with my 4.9!

    Cadillac DeVille 1985 to 2005 including:1985-1992
I am new to the board so bear with me! I would like to thank whomever had the foresight and knowledge to share being able to reem the EGR ports on the 4.9 to cure the ill of "pinging" under acceleration! It seems to have worked on mine (124,000 miles BABIED!!) however, I still have an issue with...

Cadillac Seville / Cadillac Eldorado Forum
unless the 88 is an etc with dual exhaust and all that jazz, id go 85. but the 85 tends to look like a heap of garbage unless its immaculate.
