The Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS is the ideal choice for drivers looking for a high performance tire that offers all season confidence.

The entire Potenza line are all performance tires. Although the Potenza RE97 A/S has some Grand Touring like qualities, it is by Bridgestone standards a High Performance Tire. I would not say it is a crappy tire but for someone looking for the ride and comfort of a Grand Touring Tire I would not recommend this tire.
I traded my Potenza RE97 A/S in for the GoodYear Eagle Touring A/S which is a true Grand Touring Tire. The ride and tire noise on the 20" wheels is much improved. As A true Grand Touring Tire the GoodYears do a much better job of absorbing impacts.
    Update:
The GoodYear Eagle Touring A/S on my 20" wheels is very comparable to what I got with this same tire that I tested on the XTS with 19" wheels.
I believe the tire dealer was correct when he said it would be a waste of money to purchase 19" wheels and a different tire size as there would be very little difference between the 19" and 20" wheels. He said he would love to have the money but said he would rather see me keep it. He did advise going with a different tire and I must say the GoodYear Eagle Touring A/S has been the one for me.

    Re: Bridgestone RE97 A/S

I changed from the Bridgestone Potenza for the Goodyear Eagles and felt my ride get better on my 2013 XTS.
