    Removing scratches from screen?

There seems to be a long scratch that goes end to end on my navigation display screen on my 2018 XTS. Is there anyway to slightly remove or fill it in somehow? It's very unsightly and distracting in the sun. Most likely warranty wouldn't cover this, so hopefully there is another way. Is replacing the screen itself an option, and if so what would be the price?

Would a static cling screen protector help to obscure the scratch? They are inexpensive. Might be worth a try.

You haven't car that long,so I'd just bring it to dealer and say you just noticed it,and may have been scratched when you bought.if you know you did it,then no point in lying,so just tell them the truth and hope for best.and I thought the screen had a protective layer over it.so maybe it comes off or you could put the screen mentioned above over it.

Thank you all for the responses. It was definitely there when I bought it, but I didn't make a big issue out of it. Now it's starting to bother me. How anyone could scratch it like that is beyond me? It's just one long scratch. I'll take a look into some of your suggestions, thanks.

    Re: Removing scratches from screen?

I would think that someone, the salesman, the detail man, somebody from the dealer would have noticed the scratch before delivery. I know it's a 2018, but you didn't say if it was brand new, not that it makes any difference. I believe I would take it back and show them and see what they say.

From what I've read many times it happens after car wash, when they clean screen with dirty rag.

This has got to be how it happens, even when you replace it, it’s bound to happen again at some point.

    Re: Removing scratches from screen?

I would reccommend using a little Windex on a microfiber cloth and using a circular motion just lightly go over the scratch a couple of times. This will not remove the scratch but sometimes will make it less visible as long as it is not a real deep scratch.
If you are humble and just state the facts the dealership may replace it under warranty as you are just talking about the screen. I am OCD, I very seldom touch the screen unless my finger is covered with that microfiber wipe that came with the car
