    2006 XLR-V infotainment

I have seen some previous posts but was hoping that someone had something new to add. I want to replace my infotainment system with one that I can update the GPS and possibly add a rear camera without putting the current system into my trunk.

    Re: 2006 XLR-V infotainment

While the XLR's infotainment system was pretty cool when it first came out (voice commands were a first) it quickly became outdated, and looks downright ancient now. Retrofitting newer head units are possible, but problematic to keep them compatible with the Class 2 communications bus, otherwise you'll lose functionality with the steering wheel controls. Here are two alternatives that fit in the dash where the original display unit resides:

The Kenwood DDX9704S In-Dash DVD Receiver with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto head unit.
The Kenwood DNX893S is another alternative. You'll also need a Metra/Axxess interface (GMOS-06), Pac-TR7 Trigger for the Bose, PAC SWI-RC for the steering wheel controls. Professional installation recommended.
