    2014 SRX4 Premium, Service Suspension System Warning

    We own a 2014 SRX Premium with approx. 40,000 miles. The DIC gives a message to service the suspension system. I can find surprisingly little information on the suspension system. I searched this forum, and google, and cannot find any good information. Does the SRX4 have an air compressor in the rear, like some other Cadillacs? Any ideas on how to remedy this?

    It is just the service suspension system message. Start up the vehicle, all is fine. Drive a few blocks and then the service suspension system warning comes on.

    Take the car to any large parts store or a local Mom & Pop shop and have it scanned for diagnostic trouble codes.

    Use this to fully decipher any found codes........ http://obdii.pro/en/model/gm

    Code read out as a letter, 4 digits, maybe a C (Current) or H (History) suffix.

    P = Powertrain
    B = Body
    C = Chassis
    U = data and power info

    Those have the magnetic-ride (MagRide) suspension. I purposely avoided getting a car with that. The are very expensive to repair, usually.

    I don't think it is actually the magnetic ride. I think it is the "Active" suspension. Not sure what that means though. I have a code reader but it isn't giving a CEL, just the DIC information message.

    The SRX AWD Performance and Premiums have the FE3 Sport Suspension w/ F45 real time damping. Here is the F45 real time damping system explained:

    http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gener...ol-technology/

    It is not magnetic. MRC is a different system and is mentioned at the bottom of the above link, as well as a body-on-frame system called AMC. I got 'yelled' at once on these forums for thinking F45 was MRC too.

    I did have a laugh at the above link, the writer describes the first generation as adjusting every 2 milliseconds, while the Buick's second generation does it 500 times per second. They don't realize that's the same thing. A millisecond is 1/1000th of a second. So two milliseconds equals 500x in one second.

    (FYI all of the FWD as well as the Luxury AWD have the FE2 independent suspension as standard and no F45).
