That means it's a salvaged vehicle. Working at a dealer, I have no recommendations.

How much do they want for it wrecked ? Just curious as we have a 12' with 71,000 on it and was wondering what it was worth too.

Luxury does not have HID headlights. Expect poor performance from the halogens. If you're rebuilding, consider upgrade to HID or LED while it's torn apart. 13 was first year with CUE infotainment, so not the fastest chipset.

I'd inquire with your insurance company if they will reinsure a vehicle which was previously written off, and that "your guy" is accredited for repair back to in-service they will accept.

I have a 2011 luxury, I agree with the comment about the low beam headlights, they are totally useless, you can only drive at night with the high beams on. You should assume that if they have any condensation in them (if they dont now, they will) that they will have to be replaced right away, but even then the low beams are bad. You can fix the condensation but its a fair bit of work and they aren't as good as new when you are done. Not sure if the AC issues were resolved by 2013, if not you will have to replace the AC condenser at some point, probably soon if at 71K. My 2011 has 105k, I have replaced AC condenser, 3 wheel bearings, wiper transmission, alternator, rear hatch struts ( the power one is $$), rear shocks, brakes and rotors a couple times, front strut mounts, and anti sway bar links. No spare tire is also an annoyance.

Re: buying 2013 luxury collection, opinions

OK, I bought on copart auction at $4150, 77k miles......should arrive in Tn Saturday and I'll update from time to time but I know the driver side headlight needs replacing. Also, damage is on driver's side front....have to replace headlight, bumper, fender.....that's what
i know from pictures. Transport from Minneapolis to Nashville is $650....I shopped of course for this very reasonable fee since it is almost 900 miles. If i can get out with a total of all fees and taxes, parts and labor for $7500-8000 I think it will be a win.

HID headlights were part of the SafetyTec system. If your car has blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, etc. it should have HID headlights.

Sorry Phil, the HID are not part of any package. They were only included in Performance and Premium collections, and are not available on Luxury collection at all. SafetyTec is not a package. There is a Driver Awareness Package, and a Driver Assist Package. It is possible to have a Luxury collection, and have both Driver packages which would add the blind spot, adaptive cruise, alert seat, etc, and not have HID headlights.

So HID lights CAN be installed on '13? Sorry, but got a little confused.

Yes, there are lots of aftermarket systems. But be aware the non-HID projector assemblies from Caddy may be in poor condition and may need service before putting in the HID bulbs and ballasts.

On the one hand, when back to average condition, it's a $12 - 14,000 car. OTOH, that you as an individual were able to buy it so cheap means that no commercial repair shop in the eastern US thought it was worth that much or more.
