    timing chain tools

i'm looking to preemptively replace the timing chain set on my 2007 DTS, I bought the dealer kent-moore J44212(cam plates), J39946(crank socket), and J44214(flywheel holder) on ebay from a closed local dealer.

Other than a harmonic balancer puller+installer, and water pump pulley tool, are there any other special tools I need to do this correctly, and what do I need to buy other than the chain kit, oil pump, timing cover gasket and seal, valve cover gaskets, and the w/p cam seal if I want to do it the right way the first time?

    Re: timing chain tools

Northstar tools came in! I also bought some 3-jaw pullers and the puller kit for the water pump pulley. Just ordered gaskets, next gonna order the chains and guides over the weekend

    Re: timing chain tools

guy I bought them from for $50 only had 1 set but this guy in ohio has them for $63. i paid just under 100 for everything

there's also a kit for ~160$ on amazon that comes with the crank socket, cam plates, and some other stuff I have no idea what they do (i probably would've bought them if I did)

edit: other tools in amazon kit are a "secondary drive sprocket fixture" and "timing chain retention tools" I went through the FSM and didn't see them used for the timing chain job so i'm assuming I won't need them, maybe the retention tools are to hold the chain if you're just replacing guides or something. not sure about the secondary drive sprocket fixture though
