Anyone Interested in Heater Core Pictorial?

This weekend I am going to back flush the heater core to try and solve the heat on one side issue... Just wondering if anyone wanted a pictorial? If this doesn't work I will do a heater core replacement. Would anyone be interested in that one?

Always good to have a pictorial if it works. You never know who may sign up here looking for troubleshooting on the same issue.

That picture scares me! I'll go ahead and try the back flush but now I'm reconsidering the core replacement. I did find a radiator shop that will do it for $600. Not too bad...

WAIT!!! That was a joke on my part. Get the Peak Radiator Flush for Like $5. I bought some clear hose from Home Depot really cheap. You can just remove the 2 hoses from the passenger side of the firewall, just to the right of the battery. "drivers side of the 2 hoses" is in, "passenger side is out". I hooked the clear hose to both sides and poured the flush in through the passenger side and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. Took the garden hose and flushed the opposite way. repeated a couple of times and it solved my problems. PM me if i can help you out

That was an '03, first one I did.
I took pics for the shock value. I can do them faster now.
Still a pain. Hope the flushing works!
This was for an a/c problem actually but you get the gist of it.
Notice the HVAC case is removed and the evaporator core is installed with the expansion valve. I remove the column completely too if I have to do this.
    Much easier.

Heater cores and evaporators aren't fun.... My buddy's Jeep Cherokee looked pretty much like that when I replaced his evaporator last summer. He couldn't believe the amount of disassembly to get to it. I've done 3 or 4 in my life.... definately an all day affair and you need a $hit-ton of patience to remove and put everything back together right.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have no choice but to do the backflish this weekend. It's starting to get chilly. I'll let you know if it works.

How much pressure should use in the hose? I know this will be hard to explain.

Re: Anyone Interested in Heater Core Pictorial?

Well its done... It didnt work for me... I did take pics though and I will work this week to put them on. I guess I have to brave a heater core replacement. Any other suggestions before I do that? Or is it worth getting it done for $600 at a well respected radiator shop?
