    Re: steering wheel

Can you describe the sound in more detail? Was it a single squick, a series of squicks or one long continuous squick? '95 STS, right?

Squick-be-gone lubricants are usually on the auto parts shelf next to the trusted Blue Devil line of engine remedy products.

NOTE: Squick-be-gone should never be used to fix squeaks. leaks, or creaks.

I had that same noise. First, lubricate the lower, bottom, rubber seal at the firewall where the steering shaft exist with silicone. Now that did not work for me, but it was quick and cheap.
The Cadillac dealer found the electric adjusting shaft, (in and out) was making the noise. My car was under warranty so they replaced ALL the steering shafts too. It made the steering like NEW, no free play.
