White Walls for rat-rod wagon build

    Hello,

I've been thinking about putting some big whitewalls on my wagon and lowering the back just a bit. Kind of going for a modern rat-rod look. I haven't heard very good things about Vouges, but would like a thicker white wall anyways. Anyone know of any tire companies who offer big white walls on modern tire sizes? Like a 285/45/18 with a whitewall?

    Thanks

might want to check in on the Classic Cadillac pages to find those gangster whitewalls but it'll be a challenge to find them in the size you're wanting. Friends don't let friends ride on Vogues.

I found this website. Looks reputable to me. Anyone see any problems with the 275/35/18 on the stock 18" rims? They said they can't guarantee any fit on new vehicles, but it looks like it will work to me. Anyone see a problem with the dimensions I'm not noticing?

That's a 10.8" cross section width, I would want it to be on at least an 18x9 at a minimum. The tire manufacturer should have a recommended range for that size, it turns out there's a chart on page you linked to, for that size tire 18x9 is the minimum rim width recommendation.

I would also try and get a virtual picture of what that would look like, not sure how well the white walls will mix with sporty body lines, you may need to add a vinyl top to help out.

After calling DB Tires, the tallest size they offer in the white walls are 235/50/18. That's the exact same size as the stocks that come on the 18x8 CTS rim....

So for anyone interested, the whitewalls from DB Tire fit most (modern) 17-20in rims as they are essentially Toyo Proxys with a whitewall.

Anyways, after figuring that out I'd rather lower the car first to eliminate the wheel well, tire gap, especially in the rear.

For lowering it seems like coil-overs are the only option beside bagging it for AWD.... Does anyone know of any lowering springs that will work for the AWD CTS wagon?

I'm still going to buy the whitewalls tho. Got a unique build in mind. I did some photoshop renders the other day so when I'm finished
