Hi, I'm from Australia and I run a 3.6 LY7 in my race car. It currently is stock apart from a set of performance exhaust pipes and K and N air filter. Does anyone know of any mods to cams etc. There isn't much in the the way of after market bits in OZ yet. Any help or info would be great.
Looks like this hasn't caught on YET.
On paper, it looks like the engine of the future (6 Cyl anyway).
I posted a call for exterior measurements recently (see a couple posts below). Short of going to a boneyard and measuring the mounts, oil pan etc, I don't know if I'll be able to use it in my Stalker. , I haven't seen anything but a couple photos of the motor with all the Caddilac plastic hiding the cam covers.
I's like to see how you've used YOUR motor (i.e. is your application a 7-esque or a full bodied car or ??)
Yes the car is a speedway car ( dirt circle track). I have the only one that I know of in this class of racing. So I am the one who has to do the home work on how to make more power. As it still runs the factory ECM it makes it hard to change anything at the moment until I find a aftermarket ECM to run the VVT and Electric Throttle (class rule require this). The headers are a off the shelf set made for road cars. If you have any leads or info it would be great.
what about possibly milling the head a little ... im no engineer, hell im not even a mechanic but if my math is right shaving off about .027 should get your compression ratio up to 11.0, u might even wanna take off maybe another 0.001, raise it up to 11.2 ... if the tl's 3.2 can handle it i'm sure the 3.6 can w/o risk of detonation or messing with the internals ...
