Question 1979 CDV/SDV stock wheel question...

Remove this ad
I want to remove my space-saver spare from the trunk and put a full size spare in its place. So I need to purchase (from salvage yard) a matching 6"x15" wheel. What years use the same wheel for '79 CDV/SDV models? Is there a number code stamped on the rim?

Bolt hole spacing should 5 on 5 inch. Should be the same lug nut spacing on any full sized Pontiac, Chevy or Buick or Olds 88 or 98.

Hey, I did the same thing with my '83. The wheel was from another '83 Deville. But 6x15 is a pretty standard size, tons of '70s cars had them.

Re: 1979 CDV/SDV stock wheel question...

I found a really nice wheel from a '79 Caddy and will have the tire mounted tomorrow. It's stamped 15x6 JJ, which is the same code on the 1979 brochure specs. What I had in mind was the same set-up you have with your '83 Ben, including the wire cover. Looks nice.

Thanks fellas!
