I had my 94 STS hooked up to a computer because it displays this message. The mechanic told me that the computers weren't giving up the correct information to properly diagnose the problem. He also told me that the computer was teling him that it was a dashboard problem.
He also told me that the suspension is working fine and that the problem is that the computer behind the dash is not getting info from the suspension. I believe the suspension is supose to adjust itself to driving conditions but I think it is actually just riding in one permanent mode except for the traction control that does kick in.
While he told me that he needs to start checking wiring behind the dash I don't believe him. I feel that it might be a module problem.
Can anyone tell me what I should have checked or reccomemd which modules to look at and where they are located.
I live in NY and took the car for a ride up to MA. this past weekend with my new FALKEN ZIEX ZE-512 (235/60/16) tires and the car had proven itself to be one of the best handling cars that I ever had from BMW's to Mark VII's. I would just like to get the suspension adjusting the way it should and be able to clear the code which keeps coming back.
BTW. To hit upon some of the tire issues out there I feel that the Japanese tires on the market are a much better deal and outperform the american tires at half the price. I was originally planning to buy the Sumitomo Ultra High Performance All-Season HTR+ but I decided to go with the brand new Falken Ziex ZE-512 Ultra High Performance All-Season which was review by consumer reports recently and got excellent reviews. Before switching to the Japanese tires I used to buy Dunlops because they were rated the best for wet-dry-snow traction out of all the rest (Michelin, Pirelli, Conti, etc...) in High Performance All-Season tires.
The Tire Rack http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp is the best place I've found to be able to compare the ratings of the major tire brands. They sell just about everything including the Sumitomo's but unfortunately not the Falken's.
