    About the factory air ride...

The factory rear air ride suspension adjusts to level the car, so technicially I can leave the rear alone if I want to install hydros, air ride or lowering springs in the front right?

You want the car to maintain it's stance. In other words if you lower the front you need to lower the rear to keep the car stable. The level ride height is adjustable so yes you can lower the car all around with the right springs.

    What's the car.

If you're going to do this do it right. Get professional help or you could very easily end up with a car that's dangerous to drive.

I think that depends on the car. If you just adjust the adjuster on the rear that won't cause a problem. If you lower the car and don't make the adjustments that may happen.

Also on your CTS you probably have RSS. That would cause an issue.

Ooops sorry I read it wrong. Yeah I think that cars with the RSS would have a problem.

If you do it, you will get a LOT of "wheel position sensor fault" codes.
