How could I make my rims white?
I currently have 16" chrome Caddy rims, but I might be buying 18" alloy/silver color rims from another guy. Is there a long lasting way to change the color of the new rims? Paint or some other thing? I have always wanted white rims to match the car, and if there is a way, I would like to try. Thanks!!
Powder coating would be the best, no doubt. However you can refinish alloy's at a body shop. All that silver is, is silver paint with a high quality clear coat.
A body shop can strip that, paint the white and re-clear it. I had a rim repaired on my STS after it got damaged. It was marked up pretty bad and I wanted it replaced. The insurance company told me it could be fixed and my body repair guy, who is a friend of mine, agreed.
Much to my surprise, that's what they did and it matched perfectly and now some 12 years later it still looks like new.
