    Ceramic Brake Pads '02 SLS???

    Gentlemen,

I'm getting ready to replace my rotors and brakes. I ordered the cross drilled and diamond slotted rotors yesterday and have held off on the brake pads. I opted not to buy the bottom of the line rotors on eBay but I also opted not to spring for the Brembos...hey, I bought the Cadillac for everything but street racing.

State of the art pads are now ceramic blends. Beneath that are the Kevlar/Metallic/Organic Blends. OEM are the semi-metallic with the rear pads having the sensors on the '02s. Bottom of the line stuff is still organic pads.

Does anyone have any experience with the ceramic pads? IF so, do you have a brand specific recommendation. I also wanted to see if anyone has changed their calipers and lines and if so did you go with OEMs or aftermarket kits.

    Thanks,

    JP

    Gentlemen,

Found three other references to EBC pads in the Forum so disregard. Nothing is available locally so I'll have to order. Thanks for the views. This thread is dead.

I'm running the EBC sport rotors with AC Delco Dura Stop ceramic pads on the front. In my opinion, they work so much better than the OEM setup. Shorter stops, no brake dust and no fade. My rear EBC rotors just came in today and I will be doing the rears with these and the Dura Stop pads to match the front.

Keep in mind that the EBC pads do not have the notched out area for the pad wear sensor, so if you plan to continue using the sensors (as I have), you'll need to look at AC Delco or possibly Raybestos.

The fronts have sensors as well.
