1995 SLS Steering problem
I was looking into buying a '95 SLS with 142,000 miles on it. While test driving I noticed the power steering not working while stopped and while at a very slow speed as in coming to a stop. This happened in gear and in park, at idle and while giving the gas. It has plenty of P/S fluid and the pump is not seized. It did not happen all the time.
I recall when I worked in a Cadillac/Oldsmoble dealership as a Tech. in the late 80's that we did alot of replacements of steering racks due to the seals inside getting hard and causing a similar problem. As I have been out of the business for many years I am not up to speed as to whether this is the same problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You, _silentMike_

Re: 1995 SLS Steering problem
It could be the rack, but I wouldn't go into that untill I checked the pump ( a lot less trouble ) It could cause the same symptoms.
