Without any warning the brakes on my 92 DeVille are causing a major headache. When I press the brake pedal to put it into reverse, the brake pedal is at the top, normally half pedal. As long as I keep my foot on the accelerator pedal the car moves, when I remove my foot from the accelerator pedal the car responds as if my foot is on the brake pedal. If driving down the road I can put my left foot under the brake pedal and lift it up and it released the drag on the motor. When I take my foot off the accelerate with my left foot under the brake pedal, the brake pedal pressed down and again the car slows down without a foot on the brake pedal. I had the caliper off and put some liththium white grease on the pins, but did not help. I have probable got everyone totally confused. Anyone able to help?:
I am not sure I totally understand the symptoms you are describing, but if my thinking is correct I had a similar issue several years back (not pedal rebound...after applying the brakes you had to pull the pedal back up off the floor), turned out to be the brake booster behind the MC.
