The instructions are so vague for my 1991 Fleetwood FWD on the alarm system. The manual says when you are getting out and the door is open, lock the door, and close, the light goes out. Is it armed? Nothing happend when I try to open the door?
Ralph
Nothing is supposed to happen when you try and open the door.
To test your alarm system follow the steps you described, except do it with the window down. Now with the system armed wait for the interior lights to go out if they are on a timer. Now reach in your car and unlock the door from the inside and open it. The alarm should be screaming now.
Thanks Eldo, your little test worked great. It makes sense to test with the window down because it would not be up if someone broke it. Thanks again, because the last time I heard the alarm was in 1991 when my parents bought the car.
