I was washing my '13 SRX today to debug it after a trip to St. Augustine FL and back and I noticed what looked like small, BB size, white spots on the hood. At first I thought they were droppings or some contaminant but upon closer scrutiny it turns out they are UNDER the clear coat. In fact it looks like the clear coat has separated from the color coat and fogged up. Have any of you found anything similar? The bad news is that any respray would have to be taken down to the base coat before respraying and that is a lot of work and expense. Just priming over the spots will not cure the problem. My dealer will have to see it to decide what to do. I'll keep you all updated as to what happens next.
I apologize for the paint spots you found on your SRX. I see you are going to take your vehicle into the dealership. Please do keep us updated after the visit. I can be contacted via private message to further discuss any concern or question.
not sure if this is same to what happened to me but read this - like you the stains seemed to be under the clear coat - leave the car in the sun for 2 hours and let me know if that is the same:
