i have a 96 sts with the stock cassete unit with the power unit in the trunk and the amplified bose speakers...the head unit is not a bose unit but it uses the bose speakers. im looking for the easiest way to upgrade to a factory in dash cd unit. does anyone have a clue as to what model unit would be a simple swap without any modifications to the electrical system or to the dash? or does anyone have any other suggestions? or any other ideas? (besides converting my cds to cassetes)
thanks

then i guess i do have the bose system..because the speakers are definatelly the amplified bose speakers. the head unit does not say bose on it though? does that sound right?...assuming that makes it a bose system. what is the easiest factory unit to swap for a in dash cd player..if any? or would it be easier to rewire in a aftermarket stereo from scratch?
you can upgrade to a stock cd player from a 98-01 Seville or 00-01 Deville
or go the aftermarket round and replace EVERYTHING and plan on about a 400 dollar budget
id prefer to keep it stock, this way my steering wheel controls still function...that and i dont have an extra 400 bucks. will the 98-01 seville or 00-01 deville radio be as simple as a plug it and mount it and im good to go?
yes
but youll have to take it to the dealer 1st and have them clear and program the theftlock
about 35 bucks if they are nice
as much as 100 bucks if they wanna squeeze you
