Hello all. I have a 96 deville and there's this electric device under the hood that I can't seem to identify...I'd really like to know what this thing does!
It's a small white rectangular ceramic thing that is mounted to the inside of the RH fender and sits directly above the battery. It has two wires attaching to it and has an indentation that makes a "U" shape from one wire to the other. It sits right beneath the metal plate that partially covers the battery, so it isn't visible unless you look underneath that plate. OK, so what is it and what does it do???

Oh and one other thing...there's also a vacuum distributor on the rear side of the engine top that has an open connector (looks like a hose should be there, but it's not). Is this normal? There's no suction on that port.

Hoping to hear from someone who knows these things...

Mike :hmm:
