I am from Kaufman. It's a small town about 30 miles south east of Dallas.

I havnt been out that way in a while. I wonder how long before Kaufman becomes part of the metroplex?

The way it's going, it wont be long. There are housing developments where gigantic fields used to be, but the Kaufman city council dosen't want to expand. If you were in Kaufman ten years ago, it hasn't changed much. We just now got a freaking Mcdonalds, and they have been trying for 4 years to get in. Ah well, at least it is still quiet out here and I can still see the stars clearly

Yall need to try your best to keep it that way. There use to be space between Ft. Worth and Denton,..........Not much anymore.

I used to live in Mesquite, so the change out here was a welcome one. I love how quiet it is out here and the fact that it's not a big city. The problem is that they are starting to act like Mesquite, but they don't want to give you anything in return. Emmissions testing, higher taxes (for "growth"), and more restrictions (Like needing a permit for a garage sale if you are in the city). On top of that, there is no compition for the few chains stores we have. Crookshires DOUBLES the price of fruit per lbs of any other grocery store chain there is, but since the closest Wal-Mart is 20 miles in any direction they can do whatever they want. I live even farther away from Kaufman in a shi* splat town called Scurry, but no one has ever heard of it so I use Kaufman. Anyway rant about Kaufman is over.

Hey Guy

I'm in Grand Prairie and we are growing by leaps and bounds. We used to be known as the arm pit of the metroplex but now we are becoming quite cultured. We even hosted the Breeders Cup race last year. As a cop I had to work the damn thing but the money and the sights were good.

Ah, Longview. My dad did some electricle work on the railroad station there.
