    Any good tracks??

I have been looking but haven't found any good road tracks or old airfields for high speed runs in Southern GA or Northern FL. Where are you guys going to play in the "V"?

There is a new road course that just opened up in Stark, FL (between gainesville and jax) that is owned by the European Rally School. It just got completed not to long ago and I think they've only had two or three track days so far. There's a scary wall at the end of the straight but those that have driven it are saying you seriously have to screw up to hit it and its there for insurance reasons. I think it's retarted but to each his own.

Roebling Rd is the track of choice for this area. It's owned and operated by the Buccaneer Region SCCA. It's used something like 300+ days a year. It's convenient to Savannah and within 2hrs from Jacksonville. As a member of teh Buccaneer Region, I have to say I would recomend this one. NASA and the Ferrari clubs are frequent renters and its used by both NASA and SCCA for regional and divisional road racing.

If you're interested in autox, albeit not high speed, shoot me a PM and I can give you loads of information. I was the central Illinois autox chair in 2007 and have relocated to Jax and am very active in the region's activities here as well.

    ^^ Good info.

IMO The GoRally track isnt the best for "speed" however the straight away on Roebling Road with the right car you can do atleast 150+. Porsches, Vettes and etc. regularly do so. I imagine the V can do as well.

Im also a regular Buccaneer Region AutoX'r and Im planning to participate in some track days here soon at Roebling.

Theres also one more track, though its more of a test/autocross course at Gainesville Intl' Raceway. http://www.gainesvilleraceway.com/

I wouldn't even bother with the gainesville track for the V. Our autocrosses there are pretty tight even for my subaru. Although my first event there was the Subaru challenge two weeks ago, I'm already not much of a fan. The surface is great, but I'm not a fan of the "two wheels off" rule. IMO, if you've got 2 wheels off, you're probably not going to be having your best run anyway so why have it hurt you further by making it a DNF. To each his own I guess, but I disagree.

The Dixie region holds GREAT autox events and would be perfect for the V to stretch its legs a little. I'll be at the Axis v. Allies event on Dec 7th and plan on going back to the Dixie NT in the spring.

And Vesicant, you should come to our monthly meetings. They're held just of 295 & Park Ave at the hotel resturant on the corner (forget the name now, its a wings place). We just had new elections and TeamFRD will be taking over as the solo chair as Shaun is too busy with his new job to continue.
