Tags are a new and easy way for people to search and find topics they're interested in. For example, if I'm creating a new topic about my Escalade ESV, I might add "escalade esv" (minus the quotes) as a tag.. Now, when somebody visits the tag section, they'll find an "escalade esv" link (or "tag"), click on it - and find the discussions marked with "escalade esv".
Since most of the old discussions aren't marked with tags, this will only work best on new topics.. But, if you have the ability to add tags to an old discussion, go right ahead and do it (if you want to). It'll only make things easier to find later on..
The BIGGER the tag, the more discussions are linked to it... There a "Tags" link in the top blue navigation bar...
