Lurk over to Impala SS Forum, the PCM Tuning area is pretty busy.
I don't think too many Cad owners realize they CAN tune thier ride. It might really strum up some new interests that aren't popular now, but I honestly get enough PM's to warrant it. I would rather the PM's be public a lot of the time where people could gain some new knowledge that they don't haved access to now.
Ever even think of tuning your 91? I currently host the free tuning software as a complete .zip file on my personal storage where people would be able to get it and start looking at their tunes and then I probably could keep all of the stock tunes there too. They are only 32k for cars like yours, 128K for 94-up LT1 cars. Probably only 512k for LS v8's, maybe even smaller for them. I haven't really paid attention for them yet. |
I dont know if its really worthwhile making a forum just for it tho. Ive never seen many posts around about it so I dont know how many people really care about it.
No ive never done anything with mine. I like the way it drives and I have a hot rod if I want to use something thats louder and faster |

Chances are anyone who wants to play around with their PCM isnt going to want to see a bunch of posts that have nothing to do with their car or engine anyway. |

I've been driving my 06 CTS-V for a few months now and really don't like the slow throttle closing built into the programing. When I take my foot off the gas I want the throttle to close... fast. I'd love to learn how to fix this. I'm all for a sub-forum on PCM programing. |

I'd be interested, I've always wondered about tuning but I've never seen any interest around here from anyone but you N0DIH. I just never asked any questions, figured nobody else would care. Good idea! |

I like the idea. I was also wondering about the idea of a fabrication/shop area, but I have no idea if that would be popular either. |

I get more PM's about LT1 tuning, which is why you don't see much on the boards on it. Honestly, often is to refer people elsewhere than here. It would be better (at least in Sal's interests) to keep people here. |

I emailed the guys at Cadillac HotRod Fab....they said they don't know much about stock Cadillacs but that I should start with the exhaust. Pull the manifolds and have the ID honed out.????
Btw, can anyone tell me why the ETC has 25 more horsepower than the ESC? Aren't the NorthStar engines identical? ...Would love to know what that difference is. |
