Unhappy New posts are gone?

Strange thing - when i answer to one post, after that all "new posts" are gone? Why is that?

What exactly do you mean - the list of posts you get when you push the "View New Posts" button? That shouldn't happen - which browser are you using, and what are your "cookie" settings. Do you have any software firewall or security programs running?

I mean, when i answer to first post, all those yellow envelopes turn back to blue - OK if i press get new posts, i see topic subjects...
I use Mozilla 1.5 browser and McAfee firewall.

Do you have any ad-blocking or pop-up blocking turned on? That can mess up the site. What about the cookie settings - do they make all the cookies temporary?

When I browse the Board, only the envelopes in the Threads I've looked at turn blue - the ones for the Threads I haven't gotten to yet stay yellow. I think it has to be your browser or firewall settings.

Please let me know if that doesn't work - we'll try something else. If you do change settings and fix it - also let me know in case someone else comes up with the same problem. I know that if I keep my ZoneAlarm set to block ads, pop-ups, private headers, and 3rd party cookies from this site several things don't work right.

One of the settings is probably making all of the cookies temporary - that would be where I'd look first.

Before I configured my ZoneAlarm, I couldn't see any attachments, and certain buttons were not visible (like "Profile"). I never noticed the thing with the envelopes though. And beware, simply turning off the Firewall will not necessarily put things back to normal - some of the changes it makes can be persistent even if the program is not running. In the past I had Norton Internet Security and it kept me from viewing a lot of sites. Turning it off didn't help - I had to uninstall it. All of the security programs are a bit intrusive but not as bad as they used to be. It's definitely a trade off.

BTW, there are some know "issues" between the vB program and Mozilla - I don't think this is one of them but I'm not sure. Did the problem start right after you installed the McAffee Firewall? - if so that's your problem...otherwise...

When I was using Netscape 4.whatever it didn't seem to work right with some newer forums. The text would go off the side of the screen and it was still off the side even when you tried to scoll over there. I haven't had this problem with Netscape 7 and as far as I know with this forums I haven't had any problems at all with it.
