What's the big deal?

I am not trying to make any controversy, but how come it seems like the administrators are all over what people say and when people try to sell stuff on the site? An example is the guy who makes the leather key fob cases, or the guy who makes the "chrome" grilles that get taped on top of our stock grilles. I understand that they aren't "supporting vendors" by who cares? What is the big deal. As far as I know the "supporting vendors" aren't selling these items. So how come they can't sell there stuff here or even mention that they make them?
I don't feel like the administrators are too polite when it comes down to this stuff. I mean no offense to you guys, but we are all just Cadillac lovers and owners. Is there a need to give such remarks or close threads?
Now, I know you are probably thinking that I am such as bad guy and am trying to make trouble. I only have a few posts and just registered. What does this guy know. I am honestly not trying to start anything at all. I just want to know why it feels like this is such a dictatorship and not as open and friendly as it could be coming from those who are so involved with this forum?
I know that I am not the only one who feels this way. I again apologize if I got anyone mad and hope that this post doesn't get locked, banned or whatever could be done. If so, then this post just goes to show what I talked about!

Thanks to all and keep your Caddy's clean!

Re: What's the big deal?

What would be the point to being a supporting vendor if you could sell your stuff anyway. It's called, protecting the guy who supports the forum rather than be a bandit and skim the cream for free. Go to the ball game and try selling peanuts you brought from home and see what happens.

It's not about Cadillacs, it's about money.

Re: What's the big deal?

I think the answer to the OP's question is pretty clearly outlined in the "terms of use".
Funny how few people actually take the time to read any of them.

Go try to advertise services so that you can make money for free on any other website, see how well it works out. Why should this place be any different?

Not trying to be rude dude, just pointing out the obvious.

Re: What's the big deal?

Thanks, guys.. The fact of the matter is... This community should not and cannot depend on my financial ability to support it (alone). If I were to get fired from my job, what would become of CadillacOwners.com? What if I become ill or injured and am out of work for several months or even years? These questions don't need to be answered being that the community is self-supported (by vendors and members).

Re: What's the big deal?

I would much rather look at classifieds at my leisure without having to field pages of new and hijacked threads trying to sell the latest snake oil or corroded rims. The inexpensive buy-in for a vendor or Supporting Member is a great control, and I don't believe CF should degenerate into a free-for-all swap meet. There are forums in here which cater to the chat room types, just as there are forums designed for troubleshooting and repair. They don't mix well, however. Just my .02
